Ed Sheeran the famous singer and guitarist said “It was my love for the guitar that got me into music and singing”.
Playing guitar is the most common hobby after singing. Musicians who first begin to play the guitar will start playing on acoustic guitar and in this phase of playing they will make a choice either to play the bass or the rhythm.
Having mastered the acoustic guitar, the guitarist will now graduate onto the electric type.
Let us first understand the basic difference between an acoustic and an electric guitar. The acoustic ones look more hollow while they do have a provision for an external pickup. The electric one feels more solid and smooth and they come with a built-in pickup and at times with sustain.

Conclusion
Electric guitars will come in two types of body i.e. solid and hollow. The hollow ones are preferred in blues and jazz while the solid body is preferred choice for metal and rock.
The type of wood the guitar is made up will play a major role in the tone and sound consistency. Mahogany provides the warm sound as it is heavy wood. Basswood being lighter will create more treble sound.
Alder wood provides sound sustainability and is heavier than basswood, the ideal choice for heavy metal.
Maple is preferred mostly in the neck and not in the body.
The guitar sound is important and this will mostly depend on the pickup, the positioning of the pickup and the magnetic power.
Different guitars use different pickups. Some use single coil while some use Humbucker pickup. Our preferred choice would be Humbuckers. Single coil tends to produce more noise.
Pay attention the frets. Some have jumbo frets while some will have jumbo frets. This will depend on your style of playing.
In our opinion, the Ibanez RG450DX and PSR S2 electric guitars are value for money as they are made of all the materials that go into a great sounding electric guitar.
